Pre-race Jitters

I always get nervous before a race. It usually starts about a week before the race and with Lavaman only 4 days away it is definitely here. The butterflies are in the stomach. The majority of my races over the past 2 years I haven’t taken very seriously. I did them to complete them, and […]

Huntington Ride

This morning I woke up at 5:00am and drove up to a little community in the “909″ called Corona. If your not familiar with Corona, its a nice little communitynestled in the clevage of the Inland Empire, aka the “IE” aka the “909″ Tons of smog and the foul stench of cows are what you […]

Sushi Swim Part 2

Those of you who have been around may remember a post I made a while back about eating sushi before a swim. The conclusion I had made after that day was that it was a bad idea to eat sushi before a swim. Being stubborn, I chose not to learn from my past mistake and […]

Sauna Spin

Tonight we had spin class inside the Colleen’s garage as a result of less-than-perfect weather. Whenever you cram 15 people in a 2-car garage and have them “sweat it out” it starts to feel a lot like a stinky tropical paradise. Sunday Group Workouts

Today we had a group swim workout which we usually have about once a month. The workout itself was surprisingly short. I think it was about 1600m. After the swim I took a quick dip in the hot tub and changed into my running gear.
The run workout was easy today. 1 hour. The route varied […]

LJHS Track

Last night we had our usual track workout at La Jolla High School. The main set of the workout was 6*1000m in zone 3. Each 1000 I did between 4:27 and 4:35. I was very consistant. Track nights have become a lot more fun since I started liking running. I look forward to Thursday nights […]

Fiesta Loops

Today’s workout at fiesta wasn’t like most other workouts at fiesta island. For those of you who dont know, the road around fiesta island is a flat, fast, newly paved 4.12 miles. The fact that it is so short usually means doing a lot of loops which can get pretty boring. But todays workout was […]
