Turbo Spin

Tonight was my first spin class since the accident over 4 weeks ago. It felt pretty good. The workout was, for the first time, pretty predictable. I didn’t care though, it was nice to be back with all my breakaway training buddies. A couple things worth noting about tonights workout.

My ribs did not hurt

Soft 18

Today I woke up, strapped on my cycling shoes, and headed out on my bike. Knowing I needed to take it easy I headed over to Fiesta Island thinking I would do a couple laps and head back. When I got to the Island I was in for a surprise.
About 1.5 miles into the loop […]

Bike Is Back

This morning I woke up and got my tools out and started working on my bike. The headset was loose so I had to tighten it. In addition my rear water bottle holders were broken from the crash. So I went over to B&L on Rosecrans St in Point Loma. I got the Xlab Flating. […]

Well I am still not ready to run. It has been almost 4 weeks since The Fall and I am in a lot less pain so I thought I would give running a try. I tend to feel the pain when I rotate my abdoman at all. Therefore, swimming is out of the question. I […]

New Plan of Attack

With Coeur d’ Alene no longer an option I have revised my race schedule for the rest of the year. The changes are in italics. I am excited about the rest of the season… especially the SOMA 1/2 in October… which will be an excellent course preview for Ironman Arizona in April 2008.

Carlsbad 1/2 Marathon […]

Withdrawn

Well, I am officially withdrawn from Ironman Coeur d’ Alene. Ironman North America would not let me transfer to another race. They will however refund $150 of my $450 entry fee. I guess I am just a little disappointed with the organization for not being a little more accommodating. I understand that this probably happens […]

My Friend - The Couch

It has now been 6 days since my crash on the bike. Most of my time the past six days has been spent on the couch in a vicodin-induced haze. I take the pill, it takes 20 minutes for it to kick in, then it does it knocks me out and I fall asleep. I […]
