Picture Perfect!

Today’s training workout was going to Costco. I lost my new card so my old roommate Jason hooked me up with a sweet new card. I was giving him my monkey face. I started out running through the parking lot trying to avoid be run over by elderly people. Then once I was in Costco, […]

Too Much Working, Not Enough Training

Today I did a nice little run around the bay. It was an easy 5 mile jog. My feet were a little bit sore after the run but I am finding that that is pretty normal whenever I get a new pair of shoes.
I had origionally planned to get up and meet the group at […]

Dear Running Shoes…

Dear Running Shoes,
You guys are new to my life and we have a few things we need to discuss if we are to have a successful relationship. Before I talk about things we need to work on, let me first say that you are amazing. I love that you would go through anything to keep […]

New Shoes Day!!!! Boohyeah!

There is a feeling that a Christian man gets on his wedding night knowing that for the first time, he gets to have sex. It is probably similar to the feeling a woman gets at 3:59am in anticipation of the opening of her favorite store the day after Thanksgiving. It’s probably not all that different […]

Running in the Cold

Tonight I did a 45 minute run. I knew it was going to be cold so I prepared myself with long pants, a long sleve shirt, gloves, and a beenie. All this for a run when it is 52 degrees outside.

8 minutes zone 2, 2 minutes zone 3
7 minutes zone 2, 3 minutes […]

Down, But Not Out!

Well, it would appear I am getting sick. I woke up this morning with a sore throat and by the end of the day I felt pretty crappy. I came home after work today and decided that I was not going to do my swim workout I had been scheduled to do. Instead, I am […]

Not What I Would Consider Ideal Conditions…

Today I am reminded of how great we have it here in San Diego. In any given winter we usually only get 3 or 4 big rains. Yesterday was our first significant rain. It soaked the streets and cause minor flooding. When the storms pass through they usually leave us with a day or so […]

Refreshed and Ready to Swim

The past few days have been absolutely crazy at work. Wednesday and Thursday after work I had just enough energy to get up my stairs and plop down on the couch. I was in a mental state that I like to call my “blah” state. It’s when my mind completely shuts down. All energy is […]
